SHEGAL ELENA GRIGORIEVNA (1924, TULA – 1979). Painter. In 1939 she entered the Moscow secondary art school. She studied with Pochitalov and with her father, the artist G.M. Shegalya. Graduated from the Moscow State Art Institute. V.I. Surikov in the workshop of S.V. Gerasimov (in 1949). She has taken part in art exhibitions since 1949. The artist’s paintings are in the museum of the State Academic Bolshoi Theater, in the art museums of Bryansk, Vladimir, Kamyshin, as well as in private collections in Russia and abroad.
